What is biblical basis for rapture?

Do loved ones in heaven see us or know what we are doing?

Do people go to heaven as soon as they die, or do they lie in rest until rapture?

If a non-believer dies and is separated from God for all eternity does that mean the person's spirit goes immediately to hell?

Does a spirit in hell burn for all eternity or is the spirit destroyed/burned up and is gone?

I know the Bible says the fire of hell is eternal and the "smoke of their torment goes up forever" but does that mean their torment last forever?
