Leadership

Staff & Leadership Board

Kyle Weigold

Lead Pastor

Kyle is the Lead Pastor at The Life Center. Kyle answered God's call on his life to go into pastoral ministry in late 2019. Kyle began his pastor ministry experience at Oak Grove United Methodist Church, a small rural congregation where Kyle served as the preaching pastor for 2.5 years ending with shepherding the congregation through the closure process in early 2022. While this experience was challenging, God's called on Kyle's life lead him forward. Having grown up in the Church, both Kyle and his wife Kirstie are ministry partners who have served in various leadership roles in church ministry throughout their lives. Kyle and Kirstie married in 2017, and welcomed the birth of their first born, Lincoln, in 2020 and their second son, Benjamin, in 2022, and their third son Henry in 2024.

"Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?”" - Isaiah 6:8 This verse has defined Kyle and Kirstie’s ministry as they have continually been led by the Spirit into places they would say are out of their comfort zone. But this is the life of a disciple of Christ. Kyle and Kirstie are excited to be in ministry at The Life Center as God leads His people into the uncomfortable spaces of this world to share His love, peace, and  the salvation made possible in Jesus.

Amy Kauffman

Director of Family Ministries

Amy coordinates all the family ministries, from infants all the way through young adults and family units. After graduating from Ball State University in 2005 with a degree in Elementary Education, she served as the Executive Assistant for a non-profit ministry and local church in Greenwood, IN.  In 2011, God led her back to Goshen, where she met her husband Jon and began her ten year teaching career. They married in 2016 and have one daughter. Together they enjoy many outdoor activities, including camping, hiking, and biking!

Proverbs 22:6 is Amy's prayer and aim in all she does for Life Center Families!  Her goal is to help empower and equip families to continue the ministry that happens on Sundays and Wednesdays at home so as children grow, they will be able to stand strong in their faith and not depart from the foundation that has been laid!

Pam Smith

Administrative Coordinator

Pam and her family began attending The Life Center when it first opened at Goshen Middle School.  The hospitality shown then and now drew them into their new church family.
She graduated from International Business College in Fort Wayne, majoring in accounting.  In December, 2019 she retired from Goshen Middle School where she was an Administrative Assistant in the Main Office for over 20 years.
When Pam isn't working she can be found with her family or with a crochet hook in hand.

Linda Ponce

Treasurer

Linda has been serving as Treasurer for local churches for years. Upon retiring from her full-time job, Linda began working for The Life Center part-time.
She graduated from National College of Education with a math/elementary education major. In her free time, she enjoys working in her yard and watching her grandchildren. She is married to Armando.

Jon Kauffman

Director of Technology

Jon Kauffman has been serving part-time as the Director of Technology since 2018. Jon also works full-time in the IT Department for Wa-Nee Community Schools.
He is married to his wife Amy and together, they have one daughter. In his free time, Jon enjoys camping, tearing apart old computers, and family trips to the local ice-cream shop!

Life Center's Leadership Board

The Life Center is advised and overseen by a board consisting of a wonderful group of members who call The Life Center home. These are leaders within our church who have stepped up and volunteered to cast vision and oversee the direction of the church.

Chris Haimes - Board President

Term: 2025-2028
I love God and my church.
Serving has always been one of my top love languages so being
on the board feels like a way I can use my gifts to further His Kingdom.

DJ Robinson - Vice President/Lay Rep.

Term: 2023-2026
I see it as an extension of Praise/Worship for me. Stepping up to further the business of the Kingdom. The race Paul was running had to do with “going and making disciples of all nations”, he understood our time here is short so it was a race. That is the same role we find ourselves in today, not much time to make the whole world aware of the Grace and Mercy of God through His Son. As David said, there was a job that needed done, I am willing to go where He sends me, so here I am.

Michelle Thaxton - Secretary

Term: 2023-2026
I said yes to serving on the board because I really like to serve and know that if you can serve you should in any way that is capable for you to serve.
I think my role on the board fulfills the mission of the church by continuing to allow me to grow in an area of leadership that I have not had previous experience. I have learned a lot about the operations of the church that I would not have had the knowledge before serving on the board.

Linda Ponce - Treasurer

Term: Staff

Mitch Day - Trustee Chair

Term: 2025-2028

Cathy Webb - Finance Chair

Term: 2026-2029
I felt that if God had laid my name on the hearts of some of the board members, I needed to respond by serving his church.
The fulfilling of our church mission will always be taken into consideration in any conversations or decisions that I am a part of.

Jennifer Skibbe - Staff-Parish Chair

Term: 2025-2028
I said yes to serving on the board because it is uncomfortable. It is not a natural fit for me, and not something I would have sought after myself. I knew that if I was being asked to serve and lead, it was an opportunity for me to humble myself and seek God’s help and get out of the way as he uses me to further his kingdom.

Alison Mattern - Business Manager

Term: 2025-2026
Serving is one of the many ways we can worship God. I was humbled when asked if I would  serve on the church board and said yes to God’s call.
Monitoring our church’s financial obligations support our church in continuing to provide ministries to grow people’s faith in God and bring people to abundant life in Christ.

Tom Nowak - Lay Representative

Term: 2025-2028

David Daugherty - Lay Representative

Term: 2026-2029

Kyle Weigold - Pastor
